Chiemezie Gerald Ike, a mixed media and installation artist is currently based in Nigeria. His work explores themes of the psychosocial dimensions of trauma, particularly related to academic / media bullying and its impact on cultural integrity. He employs various techniques, including mixed media painting, installation art, and his unique experiment, Illusive Plastograph, to visually express these themes. His work often incorporates found materials such as crumpled paper, fabric, and other components of durable materials, which he uses to represent themes like Binary Stature, social affluence, and the influence of technology on society. Ike's art aims to foster critical reflection on these psychosocial, political and cultural issues as well as inspire meaningful dialogue about identity within a global context.
